Hofmann's research lab focusses on the structure and function of proteins in infectious and neurodegenerative diseases, and also develops computational tools. He is the author of Methods of Molecular Analysis in the Life Sciences (Cambridge, 2014) and Essential Physical Chemistry (2017).Samuel Clokie is the principal bioinformatician at the Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital, where he leads the implementation of bioinformatic techniques to decipher next generation sequencing data in clinical diagnostics.
